Coorevin Farm

Coorevin Farm Tours

Agriculture is one of the main growth industries in Ireland and as such more and more students are choosing agri science in their educational plans for the future. Coorevin Farm Tours was developed to accommodate second and third level Agricultural Science students to experience first hand the workings of a progressive farm. Having experienced the amount of information students require to complete their practical assignments for Leaving Cert projects in this subject, we realised there was a real need for a facility like this in North Tipperary.

Students can gather information about the scientific, environmental and technical aspects of farming and will be able to take away any samples's i.e weeds, rocks, meal samples etc. that will assist them in completion of their projects.

To accommodate the total experience on the farm we have a pupose built lecture workshop which is in keeping with the surroundings to give the students the opportunity to take notes, ask questions, do practical experiments and generally debrief after the experiential learning. We also have kitchen facilities to accommodate students who may have travelled a distance to have their own packed lunches or snacks on site.

All farm tours can be tailored to the needs and requirements of each group and we work closely with agricultural science teachers to ensure that every students has a very knowledgeable and positive experience.

The Moran's Agriculural Experience is open to male and female, national and international, second and third level students who are studying Agriculural Science for examinations or are just interested in learning more about modern farming practices.

A typical farm Tour/Workshop includes,
tea/coffee and homemade scones on arrival
●  lecture/briefing on the farm operations,
walk/tour of farm and its grasslands, livestock and buildings
concludes with a question and answer session in the conference facility.

The visit takes approximately two and a half to three hours from time of arrival.
